Because of Hurricane Sandy last month New Yorkers are still trying to pick up the pieces, including helping local bars get back up and running again. If you can’t imagine living one night without your favorite watering hole you can imagine how much they’re hurting. Fortunately even though we’re on the Left Coast we can still help them out at the Hurricane Sandy Relief party tomorrow night at Harvard & Stone. The event will raise money to provide disaster relief for the United States Bartenders Guild – New York.
The night will feature cocktail recipes and booze donated from some of L.A.’s best bartenders. Here’s just a few of who’s going to be represented:
- Jaymee Mandeville of Drago Centro and Cari Hah of Neat (Corralejo Tequila)
- Zahra Bates of Providence (Karlsson’s Vodka)
- Julian Cox of Playa and Rivera (Novo Fogo Cachaca)
- Allan Katz of Cana Rum Bar (Leblon Cachaca)
Guest bartending teams Jaymee and Cari of Lil Twisted Sangrita fame and Zahra and Mia Sarazen will man the back bar while live bands like Golden State and Spirit Vine will rock out in the main bar.
Other fun ways to contribute to the disaster relief are by purchasing an extremely limited edition T-shirt (there are only 25 per sex!) by Home Bar Basics cocktail author and artist Dave Stolte, which go for $25 each, and bidding on the silent auction which features goodies like a gift basket of Highland Park 18, Macallan 15, Brugal 1888 and Black Grouse; a set of Miracle Mile Bitters; and a not-yet-released bottle of La Nina del Mezcal.
