PaleyFest: American Horror Story Panel
The scariest TV show I’ve ever seen, right up there with The Walking Dead, American Horror Story, kicks off PaleyFest 2012.Tickets for this panel featuring its stars Dylan “Ben Harmon” McDermott (swoon!) and Alexandra Breckenridge (that red-headed maid) as well as show creator Ryan Murphy, to name a few will be taking your questions. And yes, tickets are still available! If you can’t make it to the Saban Theatre, you can catch the livestream of the panel on the PaleyFest Web site. Other cool panels to check out: Mad Men! Umamicatessen Soft Opens
You’ve heard all the buzz and yes, Umamicatessen — a food mall of sorts housing Spring for Coffee, PIGG by Chris Cosentino, The Cure deli, Umami Burger and The Back Bar — soft opens, with limited service until its grand opening later this month. But check out that Back Bar situation with a cocktail menu created by La Descarga’s sexy Aussie bartender Adrian Biggs and a selection of 30 wines and 10 craft beers on draft.

The Last Art as an Appetizer Food Truck Meet-Up in Pasadena
Now’s your last chance to see how food trucks interpret art via their food at the last Pacific Standard Time art exhibit food truck meet-up. For this meet-up they’ll tackle the LA Raw Abject Expressionism in Los Angeles 1945-1980. Ooh! Dark stuff. Let’s see what trucks Border Grille, Casablanca Truck, Go Chew, Flat Iron Truck and Gourmet Genie can do. For a sit-down experience, Playa and Rivera restaurants are still offering their Art as Appetizer secret menu through March 31.

Mid-Century Modern Liquidation Sale
Oh my gawd, I LOVE mid-century furniture so had to share this when I saw it listed on Yelp. At this warehouse sale, score 50% off small items like ‘60s art glass, as well as 40% off lighting and selected furniture.

Ray’s and Stark Bar’s 1st Anniversary Party
Everyone’s favorite LA museum bar/restaurant is going all out for its first anniversary with a party featuring drink specials, mixmaster mixologist Paul Sanguinetti spinning tunes when he’s not behind the bar and Chef Kris Morningstar’s four-course menu of “best of” dishes ($44). Featured drinks are Ray’s Swizzle (rum, lime juice, pineapple syrup, blackberry and orange) and Ginger Rogers (gin, lime juice, ginger, mint, ginger ale), both for $7 each. There will also be live screenprinting on the patio. Bring your own T-shirt for an instant souvenir of the party.
