Bah! I got invited to this awesome-sounding fashion-fabulous event and can’t go as it’s the same day I have to go out of town! It’s the 8th Annual Fashion for the Cure benefit at Smashbox Studios. The Komen Los Angeles County Affiliate will showcase fashion icon Diane Von Furstenberg’s Cruise/Pre-Spring Collection 2009/2010. DVF herself is rumored to attend! And Eliza Dushku (Dollhouse, but I remember her from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) hosts the fundraiser that kicks off October’s breast cancer awareness month.

A high-energy DVF runway show will feature professional models and celebs who have been touched by breast cancer. Meanwhile, party-goers can sip on Partida signature cocktails and participate in a silent auction which includes goodies like a pair of tickets to the Grammys, a Shangri-La Hotel staycation package as well as dinner for 10 at Mastro’s! Fan-cee!

Tickets range from $100 general admission to $200 (seating behind VIP and VIP cocktail reception) to $350 (gift bag, prime runway seating, cocktail reception and ticket to afterparty). 75 percent of the event’s proceeds go to breast cancer patient services in our community while 25 percent go to Komen National for research.
