This weekend is gonna be frickin’ awesome.

Thursday, May 14

The Lek’s Sake Tasting Night 2.0
Fine sake, Asian tapas and cool people. The Lek always throws some fun events and this would be one of them. Ronin‘s sake sommelier will take you through several sakes til you can’t taste the difference no more. You have to be a Lekker to participate but no worries, it’s free to join this social site.

  • 7:30pm. $28. Ronin Izakaya Bistro, 359 N La Cienega Boulevard, West Hollywood (map).

Friday, May 15

Territory BBQ and Records Debuts
Imagine a restaurant in L.A. that has all the best barbecue recipes from North Carolina, Memphis, Kansas City and Texas all under one roof! Pulled pork sandwiches on Wonder bread, Texan ribs, freshly made biscuits. Oh mama! Just remember to wipee your hands before you check out the collectible vinyl in the adjacent record store.

  • 11am-10pm. 534 Hoover Street, Los Angeles (map). (213) 662-4100.

Saturday, May 16

The Bruery’s 1st Anniversary Bash
Still jonesin’ for craft beer after the craft beer goodness fest last weekend? Fortunately for you, The Bruery is celebrating a birthday with lots of craft beer — anniversary ale Papier, Cuvee Jeune (featured at the Craft Beer Fest) and Melange #3, to name a few. Beachwood BBQ will provide the eats and you get Bruery glassware to take home.

  • 11am-6pm. $25. The Bruery, 715 Dunn Way, Placentia (map).

Angel City Derby Girls present The Big One Tournament
An ACDG tournament was on my L.A. bucket list and this would be the mutha of all tournaments as roller derby leagues from both NorCal and SoCal converge at the Toyota Sports Center to tear up some flat track. Who’s gonna win? Local girls or a visiting team? Online sale ends at 5pm on Friday.

  • Saturday 12-10pm, Sunday 8:30am-5pm. $20 presale day pass, $30 weekend pass. Toyota Sports Center, 555 N. Nash Street, El Segundo (map).

Cinespia Cemetery Screening Returns: Cool Hand Luke
A favorite L.A. summer pastime, watching movies in a cemetery, is back and it’s got Paul Newman. Yup, kicking off the season with some Cool Hand Luke, a drama about a (gorgeous) prisoner who refuses to conform to the system. I say, bring a picnic of comfort food.

  • 7pm. Hollywood Forever Cemetery, 6000 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles (map).

Sunday, May 17

Splash Dance Pool Party at The Standard Hollywood
A pool party at the Standard on a Sunday and there’s no cover! DJs galore, $7 guava mojitos til 3pm, party paparazzi and Popcakes sweets and it’s free to get in. So dust off your swimsuits and designer shades, it’s time to get some sun. RSVP by Saturday to events [at] foundtrack.com.

  • 11am-6pm. Free. The Standard Hollywood, 8300 W Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood (map).
