Guess what? uWink is opening up a location in the Hollywood and Highland Center in early May! I know! I’m so excited! I’ve wanted to check out this interactive restaurant ever since I first heard about it but since it’s all the way in Woodland Hills I never did. But now Hollywood barhoppers and tourists alike can order their food and drinks through the touchscreen terminals at each table as well as play games with each other on those things.
From Business Wire:
“We loved this location from the moment we saw it,” said Nolan Bushnell, chief executive officer of uWink. “Hollywood & Highland is the epicenter of Hollywood and the entertainment industry, which fits perfectly with uWink’s mission and demographic.”
According to the press release, the new uWink will occupy the 7,200-square-foot space formerly known as Wolfgang Puck’s Brasserie Vert and will be open for lunch, dinner and late night seven days a week.
Other features include:
- Large wall projections exhibiting revolving dynamic imagery to change the restaurant’s vibe or for restaurant-wide group gaming
- Menu created by Executive Chef Greg Schroeppel (Spago, Chinois on Main) featuring everything from burgers and pizzas to tender braised short ribs and seared salmon
- An extensive wine list, microbrew on tap and signature cocktails — like Catalina Sunset, Absolut-ly Stressed and Bacardi Razberri Mojito
- Every food order is customizable
No word yet when exactly the grand opening is going to be but will keep you posted. That would be cool if they had TV nights here like they did/do(?) at the Woodland Hills location. I wouldn’t mind watching 24 or something like that there. Hopefully it won’t be too overrun with tourists.
