Are you feeling the burn yet? Consider this your last weekend of freedom before holiday duties.

Wired Magazine Showcases High-Tech Gadgets at the W
Are you a gadget fiend? You’ll want to check out the Wired Magazine store kiosk that’s debuting at the W Los Angeles in Westwood today. The kiosk will showcase the magazine editors’ fave high-tech gadgets and gear of 2007. Yay! My Canon G9 made the cut. Kiosk opens today from 6:30-8:30pm but you can’t make it then it’ll stick around til the 21st, or you can shop online at www.wired.com/wiredstore.

Look Sharp: Urb’s Shopping Weekend
One of the coolest shopping districts, Melrose and Fairfax, is having a neighborhood sale with up to 40% off the likes of Agent Provocateur, Cynthia Rowley, Tarina Tarantino and Creatures of Comfort. Oddly enough, you have to RSVP to attend but do it and enjoy this hipster shopping extravaganza.

  • December 15-16. RSVP. Melrose Heights and Fairfax District, Los Angeles (map).

A Christmas Story at Angel City Drive-In
It’s a very special Christmas episode of the Angel City Drive-In. For family night at the downtown drive-in, they’ll be showing that holiday classic, A Christmas Story. There will be food by Weeneez and the refreshments are brought out to you by the Angel City Derby Girls themselves but you’ll have to BYOB, not that there’s anything wrong with that!

  • $30 a car, $10 walk in/bike in. Gates open at 6:30, movie starts at 8. Angel City Drive In, 240 W. 4th Street, Los Angeles (map).

Unsilent Night Los Angeles
Join a boom box symphony. As part of a worldwide Christmas caroling of the alternative kind, composer Phil Kline has invited boom box musicians from all over to blast their tunes in unison. To participate, email UnsilentNightLA@gmail.com for a list of instructions. Or just show up to spectate this unique holiday event. Unsilent Night, indeed.

  • Free. 7pm. Pan-Pacific Regional Park, 7600 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles (map).

Raising Arizona and Evil Dead II at New Beverly Cinema
When you think of holiday movies you probably don’t think of these two but that’s the beauty of them. Escape the Beverly Center madness for a double feature of on-screen hilarity. Two movies with comical, would-be heroes who go through quite a lot of slapstick for their girls.

  • $7. 3:50 & 7:30, 5:45 & 9:25. New Beverly Cinema, 7165 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles (map).

Los Angeles Master Chorale: Messiah Sing-Along
Sunday’s your last chance to sing with the L.A. Master Chorale. This is one of my absolute favorite holiday things to do even though I can’t hit one note. Just grab your own copy of the Messiah songbook (or one of the musical scores that are provided) and join the legions of choir groups who show up to this thing. Even if you don’t sing, it’s quite an experience for the ears and eyes.

  • $19-$64. 7:30pm. Walt Disney Concert Hall, 111 South Grand Avenue, Downtown (map). Tickets, (213) 972-7282.
