OK, now it feels like the official end of summer what with the Bowl season and the cemetery screenings ending this weekend. Don’t be sad. Keep the party going and pick your poison from the events below.
Friday, September 14
Pink Martini at the Cocoanut Grove/Hollywood Bowl
Saturday’s show, the one I’m going to, is all sold out but there are still some tickets available for the Friday and Sunday shows. With Pink Martini resurrecting that Cocoanut Grove swank, a fireworks finale and…Carol Channing? (she’s still alive?), it’s a great way to end the summer Bowl season. Tear. Bring your own pink martini fixings: some vanilla vodka and cranberry juice, a little shaker, ice and plastic martini glasses from the party store.
- 8:30pm. $17-$22. Hollywood Bowl, 2301 N. Highland Avenue, Hollywood. (map)

The Exorcist at Hollywood Forever Cemetery
OMG, it’s the last screening of the season in the ol’ Hollywood Forever Cemetery. And The Exorcist is the perfect way to go out as it’s the scariest horror movie ever. Lots of images in that one that just haunt you for a long time. Eek! I’m sad I’m going to have to miss it. But all you lucky folks who go, color me puke-green jealous.

Stephy from Yelp’s Virgo Birthday Bash at Blue Goose Lounge
Yelp queen Stephy (“Steph” to those who know her) is celebrating her coming of age at the current favorite bar of L.A. Yelpers, the Blue Goose Lounge. No need to RSVP. Come to celebrate Virgos or to check out what Yelpers look like or to just see what’s so great about this Hollywood lounge. I’ll be there after the Bowl concert since they’ll be going til the owner kicks everyone out. And who knows when that will be? Happy birthday, Steph!

Work up a sweat in an oh-so sexy way. I can’t believe they’re giving out free cardio-belly dancing classes in BH of all places. It’s free and open to the public so take advantage.

6th Annual Taste of Santa Monica

Munch your way through food booths for 40 of SaMo’s well-known restaurants like Abode, The Lobster, Laconda Del Lago, Tengu, El Cholo and Hooters to name a few. **Halfway to St. Paddy’s Day Party at Patrick Molloy’s
** Do you have a little Irish in you? Would you like some? Patrick Molloy’s can help you with that. In anticipation of the biggest drinking holiday of the year, they’re marking the halfway point with green beer and 2-for-1 Irish Car Bombs, Guinness and shots of Jameson. So crazy it’s on a Sunday. Sounds like people will be calling in hungover on Monday. PS: Green attire is a must.
