Catch Dengue Fever, the world music band not the disease, at MacArthur Park’s Levitt Pavilion tomorrow night as they throw a free concert to the masses, making for one groovy early fall evening.
From National Public Radio:
The six-member band fuses Cambodian pop with psychedelic rock, creating an only-in-California sound that’s gaining new fans with each gig.
For influences, they cite Blondie, Os Mutantes and Charles Mingus. Nice! Bring a picnic, a lawn chair, maybe a blanket and lounge on the open lawn around the amphitheater or get up and dance. Afterwards, you can walk over to the Royale on Wilshire for some apres show cocktails to cool down.
