Hey all, indie pop-folk group, the Decemberists, will be making their orchestral debut at the Hollywood Bowl this Saturday, backed up by the L.A. Philharmonic Orchestra. And I was given the very lovely task of presenting a couple of tickets to a very lucky person — the first commenter who wants ’em. Please send me your full name, email address and whether you like to pick them up at will call or have them mailed to you. Seems like there’s been a slate of these ticket giveaways on LA Observed, LAist, Eye Spy LA and so on, so by now there should be a pretty good (and Internet-savvy) crowd going to this particular concert.
The giveaway seats are located in Section K1 Row 16 (normally $40 a piece), which is just right behind the terrace boxes and my favorite section to sneak into at the Bowl. You get to make fun of the people who are having fancy dinners in their cubicles, you’re still close enough to the stage to make out the performers’ expressions and there’s a big jumbotron screen overhead in case you want a closer look.
I’d try and take the tickets for myself cuz free Bowl tickets, cool indie pop band and the L.A. Phil on a lovely Saturday night? Good times. But I’m going to be out of town so they’re yours. Let me know if you want them by leaving a comment or emailing me at caro at carolineoncrack.com.
