Even though LA Weekly’s 1st Annual Detour Music Festival is just this Saturday, tickets (general $35.50 and VIP $50.50*) are STILL available. That’s right, you still have a chance to party in Downtown LA all day long with several thousand people and enjoy headliner acts (all LA bands) Beck, Queens of the Stone Age and Basement Jaxx as well as Blackalicious, The Elected and many more. A portion of every ticket sold will go toward TreePeople, an organization dedicated to preserving the urban forest. Yay! Trees!
Since family-friendly Grand Avenue Festival will be taking place at the same time just five blocks away and both events are anticipated to draw about 40,000 people to the area, you can just forget about street parking. Try the Metro instead. Don’t worry about getting stranded, the last train out of the Civic Center station leaves at 12:19am.

EVENT: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7 at 2-11PM
* NOTE: VIP tickets apparently get you access to a grassy area where there’s a bar and great sightlines to both stages.
