In celebration of Bon Appétit’s 50th anniversary, Beverly Hills has been offering a “Bon Appétit’s 50 for 50 Prix Fixe Dining” from September 1st through the 10th where you can get a prix fixe lunch or dinner at one of the chi-chi shopping area’s expensive restaurants for “just” fitty bucks. That’s right, a three-course meal finished off with a glass of bubbly at Blue on Blue at the Avalon for $50.
But I like the sound of Boe at the Crescent’s prix fixe menu: baked brie appetizer, flatiron steak and a chocolate gooey heart cake with a glass of wine. Eeee!
The week culminates on September 8 and 9 with culinary and wine workshops, seminars, chef demos and luncheons with Bon Appétit editors and contributors. Diehard foodies can purchase 50 events for $750 while the rest of us might want to pick and choose from the schedule.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8
The Art of Cocktail Design 4–6pm, Ticket $80
The sleek Crescent Hotel sets the scene for this glittering outdoor reception exploring the design of the cocktail. Custom cocktails and deluxe appetizers give the event a stylish focus. Also includes a special drinks seminar hosted by Bon Appétit Features Editor Hugh Garvey and famed mixologist Jeff Williams.
Best of California Cuisine 7–10pm, Ticket $95
Giada De Laurentiis, cookbook author and host of Food Network’s Everyday Italian welcomes guests to the cozy Mosaic and presents exciting culinary treasures from California’s Gold Coast. Enjoy a favored sampling of the state’s most celebrated artisanal cheese and wine followed by a hand-crafted small plates menu.
Afterglow 9:30–11pm, Ticket $95
Complete the experience with after-dinner wines and deluxe desserts at the neighboring Maison 140. The romantic and intimate setting is the ideal venue for sipping a glass of golden dolce, muscat or a vintage port.

Editor-in-Chief Barbara Fairchild and 50 celebrated chefs present a culinary tour de force at the newly renovated Beverly Hilton. Guests will experience 50 extraordinary wines selected by the prestigious Bon Appétit Tasting Panel, signature dishes from the evening’s featured chefs and a silent auction highlighting wine lots from around the world.
