Have you ever wanted to drink, eat, dance and gamble the night away but couldn’t bring yourself to make the four-hour trek to Vegas? CozmoCard, LA.com and Open Table join merry-making forces to throw the ultimate Sin City event for Angelenos: Vegas in L.A.

On Saturday, August 26 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, there will be djs and dancing; a silent auction; wine tasting with over 50 domestic and international wines; delicious food provided by over 30 of L.A.’s most popular restaurants; and of course gambling from your pick of over 40 casino tables including blackjack, roulette, craps and poker. 

How is this possible in fuddy-duddy California? Guests are given playing money at the beginning of the event, and at night’s end their earnings can be redeemed for raffle tickets. Raffle prizes will range from museum memberships, dinner packages to hotel stays. The casino-themed party benefits Step-Up Women’s Network.

I ain’t big on all the gambling (since I have a jinx on me) but I’m sure all that food, wine and music will keep me amply occupied. Weee!

Tickets are available as either general admission, VIP or the High Roller Package.

• General Admission ($85): Entry from 7pm to 10pm. Wine and food tastings plus $250 of casino money.
• VIP Admission ($135): Early entry at 6pm, all night access to the VIP lounge, $500 in casino money, free valet parking and a VIP gift bag. (OR you can buy the VIP tickets for $80, not including the service fee, through Goldstar.)
• The High Roller Package ($1,500): A group of 10 guests gets access to the VIP lounge and a table to sit, relax and enjoy their food and wine. The High Roller package is the only guarantee of having sitting space at the event.
