Last night’s birthday tiki party at Saints & Sinners was a huge hit. And I totally want to thank S&S for making it all happen since I forgot to thank them when I had the mic last night for my big Trader Vic Mai Tai giveaway.
Carol, the pink-tressed temptress/bartender, was a doll helping with the decorations and even pushing for Mai Tai and Blue Hawaiian drink specials, which the guests enjoyed with their paper umbrellas and toy animal garnishes. Bobby and Chip graciously allowed us to take over the bar and make a mess of it with our Hawaiian cake, leis and Party City tiki decorations.
Morgan spun some great ’80s tunes that made us want to dance where we stood and he also handed over his mic for our raffle.
Plus who could forget Mike, the doorman, who ruled the door with a firm but gentle hand even though well-meaning guests showed up bearing gifts of alcohol? Apparently a big no-no in bar-dom. Who knew?
And a huge thanks to the rest of the S&S crew for helping out with the chaos that was this birthday party.
But I especially wanted to send out a big mahalo to all those who made it out to the party despite the daunting “But it’s a Sunday” obstacle. You made Ryan’s and my birthday really special and I thank you for my delicious hangover today. MWAH!
