The Section Quartet: OK Computer Reinterpeted @ the Echo

— by Caroline on Crack

Billed as the “loudest string quartet on the Planet” for their phenomenal interpretations of iconic rock albums, The Section Quartet will be performing their take on Radiohead’s OK Computer at the Echo on Thursday the 6th at 8pm. I’m so excited! I heard a sample of “Just” and “No Surprises” and they take some getting used to but it’s interesting to hear a classical-type version of rock songs you know so well.

From The Section Quartet site:

The Section Quartet was formed on the principles of rock & roll: musicians challenging the establishment by knocking down the walls dividing two genres of music. With their kinetic arrangements, eclectic repertoire, and bold performance style, the worlds of classical and rock collide with spectacular results.

Last month they dazzled audiences at the Echo with their version of Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon. If you want to hear more samples, check out their Web site or look for them on iTunes.
