(from LA Times)
The last time I went to Dominick’s on Beverly Boulevard was either 2002 or 2003….anyway, a loooong time ago in nightlife years. But my one experience there was horrid. The joint was a meat market, the likes I hadn’t seen in awhile. My poor girlfriends, gorgeous as they are, were getting pawed from every which way. I know, boo hoo. And I didn’t know then that it was a restaurant or that the Rat Pack used to frequent there. All I noticed was the too-crowded bar and patio taken up by status-conscious slicksters and their attention-whoring counterparts. I vowed to never return…until…
Some murmurings have surfaced about a new and improved Dominick’s. “Pshaw!” I thought as I read about their Sunday Suppers as intriguing as it all sounded.
And then I came across more reviews praising its traditional Italian menu, stunning patio and outside bar, and its redone decor. Yum! I’m going to have to visit. Also! their kitchen closes late and their bar is open until 2 a.m. Sounds like a lovely place to wind down the evening with your friends, take your honey for a romantic date or kick off the wee hours of the night a la Frankie. Order up some small plates and your standard martini and call it a night.
